How to Maintain Your Furnace’s Efficiency

- 9:00 am - June 10th, 2020

Although your furnace has likely been dormant for a little while already, it’s not time to put it out of your mind just yet! We recommend performing some basic maintenance on the furnace in order to keep it efficient and operational for the next heating season.

Here are a few ways you can help keep your furnace in proper condition:

  • Take time to clean the furnace. Dirt and debris can accumulate on the equipment as it sits dormant, and this can negatively impact the airflow and efficiency of the system. Wiping down the exterior of the furnace with a damp cloth and using a vacuum to clean accessible areas are enough to make a difference!

  • Changing the air filters will also help to improve airflow, which prevents it from being overworked and causing heating and repair costs to rise as the efficiency decreases and wear and tear increases.

  • While there are tasks you can perform to help with maintenance, a professional tune-up is irreplaceable! Schedule equipment maintenance with a local heating service company to further boost efficiency and reliability of the equipment.

Another thing to keep in mind this summer is your storage tank. If you haven’t ordered your final fill up this summer, be sure to call or contact us online to do so. A full tank in summer can go a long way for your comfort in winter!
