Inspect Your Storage Tank to Ensure It’s Safe

- 10:16 am - April 27th, 2018

One of the benefits of using heating oil to safely fuel your home comfort is having a supply close by. However, having a storage tank on your property requires that you watch out for any signs of problems before they turn into costly repairs or cleanups. These are the areas you should inspect closely, and let us know if you see any of the following warning signs:

  • Vegetation around your storage tank can indicate issues based on the coloration and health of the plants. Watch for patches near the tank where plants are not thriving
  • Check the condition of your tank – take note of any signs of damage such as rusting, pitting, bulging, cracking or splitting anywhere along the tank
  • Any cracks, dampness or staining around joints and valves
  • Broken gauges and signs of leakage around the pipes or welding locations

Help us keep your property and oil storage tank safe by keeping an eye out for any of these indicators. If you do happen to notice an issue, contact Glider Oil right away.
